ReBoot is dedicated to the environment and computer literacy.
Introducing ReBoot
ReBoot is a computer recycling program (and non-profit-to-be) that uses donated computer parts to train people (Kids AND Adults) in how to build & use computers. By getting involved in ReBoot, you not only will have fun working alongside the volunteers and neighbors, but you may learn a thing or two about soldering leads and/or photoshop.
Guiding Principles
- Computer silicone is non-biodegradable and becomes landfill, every year we Brooklynites toss out many computers
- Eventually, those who do not know how to use a computer will be on the outside of society looking in
- Many people do not know how to use a computer
- Even more people do not know how to build a computer
- Not everyone can afford a computer
How it Works
By collecting (and securing) donated computer parts, we aim to host a class towards the end of the summer for neighbors to begin the recycling. With enough neighborhood support, we aim to give away at least twenty newly rebuilt and refurbished PCs. (or Macs, my computer of choice)
This is an organization very much in it’s infancy. Join the initiative and help green Brooklyn computers.

This is a wonderful concept and idea that my boss has had for years to help families in need obtain a free computer. I work for a not-for-profit that serves people with low to no income with a variety of issues from emotional, financial, psychological and developmental disabilities. It would be wonderful to obtain these computers for families in need and provide them with the opportunity to enhave theirlives as well as their childrens. Please feel free to contact me at 917-606-6575 to dicuss further. Thank you
